Youth Programs

The Young Representative of Waterbury (YROW) is dedicated to empowering Latino youth students, helping them find their voices and create positive change. Through our programs, participants not only improve their high school experience, but they also learn how to build a strong network of support, discover new opportunities, and navigate the path to college. We believe in equipping them with the tools to pursue their dreams passionately.

Since 2017, our Latino-led program has been dedicated to nurturing the leaders of tomorrow. While we specifically target Latina teens in grades 8th through 12th

The program is also open to male students and students of other races. Our commitment does not end at high school graduation; we continue to provide support to our young people, ensuring they thrive in their post-secondary endeavors.

The program emphasizes leadership development, civic participation, social justice education, and mental health resources. We take a culturally appropriate approach to empower the team of young people in our program. A significant strength of our youth program is that former student participants return to support the organization, fostering a cycle of support and growth that propels our students toward success.

Through our holistic approach, The Young Representative of Waterbury (YROW) strives to create a positive and nurturing environment, empowering the leaders of tomorrow to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.
